Emily Shaw is an emerging interdisciplinary artist, writer, and humorist from Prince Edward Island. Working in performance, audio/video, printmaking, and sculpture, her work explores contemporary struggles young women such as herself face in regard to the media, consumerism, and late stage capitalism.
Her art this year has been investigating ‘Queer Failure’, the Gothic, dreams, and sketch comedy. She uses the abject, the absurd, and the grotesque as sites for communicating vulnerability, sexuality, and academic discourse.
